The CDM Regulations apply to all but a few categories
of construction work. Broadly only domestic projects
undertaken by the homeowner, and selected minor
works of short duration, are exempt from the full
force of the Regulations. In all but these limited
cases the client is legally obliged to appoint
a CDM Co-ordinator to advise on health and safety
through the duration of the project - from planning
stage through to completion.
